Mówmy do dzieci po kaszubsku
21 lutego przypada Międzynarodowy Dzień Języka Ojczystego. To okazja, żeby zastanowić się w jakim języku mówimy my – Kaszubi i jak mówimy do naszych dzieci. Święto ustanowione w 1999 roku przez UNESCO – ma zwracać uwagę na różnorodność językową i potrzebę wielojęzycznej edukacji.
– To dobry dzień do promocji kaszubskiego – który jest jedynym językiem regionalnym w Polsce – mówi dyrektor Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej w Wejherowie Tomasz Fopke, który do swoich dzieci mówi po kaszubsku.
Jak przekonują naukowcy, dwujęzyczne wychowanie rozwija inteligencję dziecka, a także ułatwia w przyszłości naukę kolejnych języków. Najlepszym modelem jest podział, gdzie jedno z rodziców mówi do dziecka w języku polskim, a drugie w języku kaszubskim.
– To naturalne, żeby na Kaszubach mówić po kaszubsku, również do dzieci – mówi autor podręczników Wojciech Myszk.
Do dwujęzycznego wychowania zachęca też stowarzyszenie Kaszëbskô Jednota, które rok 2015 ogłosiło Rokiem Dziecka Dwujęzycznego. Według danych z ostatniego Spisu Powszechnego języka kaszubskiego regularnie używa jedynie 108 tysięcy osób. A według szacunków jest nas prawie pół miliona.
21 lutego obchodzimy Międzynarodowy Dzień Języka Ojczystego – ojczystego, czyli wyssanego z mlekiem matki, tego pierwszego, najważniejszego, w którym od urodzenia poznajemy świat. Mówmy do swoich dzieci po kaszubsku – przekonuje w rozmowie z Anią Cupa-Dziemińską redaktor miesięcznika „Pomerania”Dariusz Majkowski.
