14 projektów, 628 punktów świetlnych, 112 ton rocznie mniej dwutlenku węgla do atmosfery, prawie 750 000 zł dofinansowania – to bilans konkursu „Oszczędne Oświetlenie Pomorza” ogłoszonego przez Wojewódzki Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Gdańsku.
Lampy zainstalowane zostały na wcześniej nieoświetlonych odcinkach dróg. Poprawiło się bezpieczeństwo na drogach i ciągach pieszych. Gminy płacą niższe rachunki za energię elektryczną. Ale podstawowym celem konkursu było ograniczenie emisji dwutlenku węgla poprzez dofinansowanie przedsięwzięć poprawiających efektywność energetyczną systemów oświetlenia przestrzeni publicznej.
Wsparcie finansowe Wojewódzkiego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Gdańsku otrzymały: gmina Pruszcz Gdański, Trąbki wielkie, a także gmina Gdańsk, Wojewódzki Szpital Psychiatryczny w Gdańsku, Gdynia, Subkowy, Jastarnia, Potęgowo, Gardeja, Kobylnica i Kwidzyn.
