Prawie 100 rolników zjechało do Lubania na „Dzień Kukurydzy”
Kukurydza coraz popularniejszą rośliną na pomorskich polach. W ostatnich 10 latach trzykrotnie zwiększyła się u nas powierzchnia tych zasiewów. W tym roku z powodu suszy zbiory będą o około 10 procent niższe – oceniali rolnicy podczas dzisiejszego Dnia Kukurydzy w Pomorskim Ośrodku Doradztwa Rolniczego w Lubaniu.
– Kukurydza to jest dzisiaj największa uprawa o znaczeniu strategicznym – mówił dyrektor Pomorskiego Ośrodka Doradztwa Rolniczego w Gdańsku Aleksander Mach.
Na Pomorzu dominuje produkcja kukurydzy tak zwanej kiszonkowej, czyli przeznaczonej na pokarm dla bydła. To roślina nie wymagająca dużych nakładów pracy – podkreślali uczestnicy dzisiejszego spotkania. Zbiory kukurydzy rozpoczną się na Kaszubach po 15 września.
