Dwujęzyczność to sposób przekazania dzieciom tożsamości
„Żëbë wiãcy bëło w familiach kaszëbsczégò jãzëka” – tego Kaszubom z okazji naszego dzisiejszego święta życzył na naszej antenie poeta i pisarz Grzegorz Schramke. Do swoich synów Barnima i Mestwina mówi po kaszubsku i jest przekonany, że to najlepszy sposób przekazania dzieciom tożsamości kaszubskiej.
Jego żona Małgorzata, choć nie mówi po kaszubsku, uważa że dwujęzyczność to skarb dla najmłodszych. Według danych z ostatniego spisu powszechnego, jedynie 106 tysięcy Kaszubów zadeklarowało, że na co dzień posługuje się językiem kaszubskim. Jak szacują naukowcy – Kaszubów jest około pół miliona, choć swoją tożsamość w spisie powszechnym zadeklarowało 233 tysiące z nich, w tym 18 tysięcy kaszubską tożsamość narodową.
